New High-Density 130 GHz Test Point System
At DesignCon 26, Samtec presented live demonstrations of new products and technologies. Two that received considerable attention were a 448 Gbps Co-Packaged Copper Channel and a 130 GHz Test Platform (224/448 Gbps-capable).
In the video above, Samtec’s Andrew Josephson gives a brief overview of the 130 GHz solution. We see two versions of the new Samtec BE130 Bulls Eye® test point system. The BE130 brings 130 GHz of coaxial test cable bandwidth for boards, packages, and substrates for emerging device characterization. The 130 GHz bandwidth makes it a 448-capable system.
Applications include device characterization for emerging 400 G-class devices and substrate characterization that supports it, high-speed digital testing, AI/ML computing, wafer probing, phased-array antenna systems, and satellite communications, among others.
Bulls Eye RF High-Performance Test
Bulls Eye® high-performance test assembly features a high-density space-saving design that enables smaller evaluation boards and shorter trace lengths in test and measurement applications.
The block compression mounts to the board for placement directly adjacent to the SerDes being characterized. The solderless design reduces overall costs and is easy to use in a lab setting.

BE130 130 GHz Test Point Systems

The BE130 provides mode-free performance to 130 GHz. It is ideal for 1.0 mm-based test equipment, which is less costly than 0.8 mm or 0.5 mm solutions. BE130 delivers the lowest insertion loss and the highest frequency possible for 1.0 mm-based equipment.
It will be available in single- and double-row configurations, with Microstrip/CPW or stripline PCB transmission. If you have questions, please contact the Samtec RF Group.
