The technical trade show calendar seems busiest in Spring and Fall. This year, due to COVID, more events are virtual. More events have been rescheduled in the Fall this year. So it seems busier than usual.
Take, as an example, Flash Memory Summit. FMS usually occurs in the summer during August. This year, it will be virtual from November 10-12, 2020.
What is FMS?
Each year at FMS, attendees hear keynotes and the latest technology updates, forecasts, and roadmaps for the NVM industry. Additionally, engineers can learn new design tips around the latest storage technologies. They can also connect with new and existing partners, vendors and suppliers.
Attendees can also benefit from a technical program put on by leaders in the NVM industry. Opportunities include:
- Technical sessions
- Panel discussions
- Pre-conference seminars
- Expert tables
PECFF at FMS
PECFF (PCIe® Enclosure Compatible Form Factor) was developed to optimize next-gen system design and to reduce solution cost and complexity. PECFF is but one tool available for improved data center optimization.
Stop by the Virtual Gen-Z Consortium Event Booth at FMS for a technical demonstration by Ralph Page, Sr. System Architect. In the video, Ralph will detail a PECFF Emulation Platform designed and tested by Samtec.

Samtec’s PECFF Emulation Platform offers the industry an easy-to-use tool for SI testing of signals via Gen-Z Scalable Connectors and top-edge connectivity. Ralph will also review real world performance achievable via these channel paths.

CXL or Gen-Z – Which Make Sense?
That is a question many in the NVM industry are curious about. Recently, the CXL Consortium and the Gen-Z Consortium signed an MOU. This will allow CXL and Gen-Z to collaborate on best-in-class, memory interconnect protocols.
How is that process going? During FMS, technical experts from Samtec and other leading technology companies will try to answer that question in an FMS panel discussion.
Here are the panel details:
- Title: Where the New High-Speed Interfaces Fit and How They Work Together
- Date/Time: Wednesday, November 11, 2020 , 4:25-4:55PM PST
For more information, please register here to attend FMS virtually. We look forward to seeing you at the event.
