Another event popular in the tech event circuit is PCI-SIG® DevCon. While DevCon events are usually in-person around the globe, this year, like so many others events, PCI-SIG DevCon is going virtual.
PCI-SIG DevCons are members-driven events that provide an opportunity to learn directly from the industry’s PCIe® experts. Attendees can participate in technical trainings to gain best practices.
The PCI-SIG Fall Virtual DevCon includes technical presentations from PCI-SIG Workgroup Chairs and other PCIe experts. Recorded presentations are now available.
Here are some key dates:
- October 12 – 23, 2020 – Sessions Posted
- October 26 – 27, 2020 – Live Q&A Sessions
The Q&A Sessions will occur at the following times: 5:00 – 8:00 pm PST (8:00 – 11:00 am TST / 9:00 am – 12:00 pm JST next day in APAC Region)

Samtec’s Steve Krooswyk to Speak
Samtec’s own Steve Krooswyk, a Sr. SI Engineer at Samtec, will speak at the PCI-SIG Fall Virtual DevCon. Steve will leverage his high-speed design and PCIe standards experience throughout his course: PCIe 5.0 (32GT/s) Connector Compliance with Integrated Crosstalk Noise.

What will the course cover? New for PCIe CEM 5.0, connectors are required to meet a minimum Integrated Crosstalk Noise (ICN) if excursions against the frequency domain limit line occur. These excursions, such as resonance, may not contribute an observable system impact.
In this presentation we review connectors with resonant excursions and explain the components in the ICN calculation. Measured 5.0 connectors and measured ICN calculations are included in the presentation.
New PCI Express® Solutions
Samtec has developed a new PCI Express® Interconnect Solutions Guide. This new tool summarizes a number of solutions supporting the PCI Express® I/O interconnect bus.
Samtec’s PCI Express® product line includes connectors, cable assemblies and PCIe® CEM AICs that help drive fast, efficient, point-to-point communication.
