OFC 2018, The Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition, is the largest global conference and exhibition for optical communications and networking possibilities.

We’ll showcase the latest FireFly™ Optical Cable Systems, including new PCIe® Over Fiber, extended temperature, and low-profile designs. Also on display is Samtec’s Flyover™ technology, as well as high-speed/high-bandwidth interconnect systems such as the flexible SEARAY™ system.
The FQSFP-DD Flyover interconnect system meets the challenges of the QSFP-DD high-density, high-speed pluggable (backward compatible) module form factor with greater performance margin compared to the QSFP-DD connector-to-PCB approach. As advanced 50 Gbps+ per channel ASIC and FPGA solutions hit the market, a next-generation Flyover approach that overcomes the limitations of signal loss on a PCB trace continues to become more relevant.

Optimized Modular Switch Architecture via Flyover QSFP-DD Solutions: Samtec Flyover QSFP-DD solutions provide improved thermal efficiencies and compact cable mananegment in modular switch architectures in a 1U 19” chassis form factor.
Samtec COBO 112 Gbps PAM4 Demonstrator: This demo highlights a single-channel proof-of-concept platform achieving 112 Gbps PAM4 data rates using a silicon photonics optical engine in a COBO form factor.
28Gbps FireFly™ on Xilinx Virtex UltraScale+ FPGA VCU118 Evaluation Kit: Highlights a low latency, high performance, mid-board optical engine passing 112 Gbps (4 x 28 Gbps) of data, without FEC, and which fully complements the Xilinx Virtex UltraScale+ FPGA GTY transceivers.
