About the World Wildlife Foundation

A Global Tiger Trek
Did you know that these little Tessies are world travelers? Many of you adopted your tiger companions from trade shows, where they started their journeys as conversation starters and goodwill ambassadors. Since then, they’ve zipped across borders and bridged connections on every continent. Here are just a few highlights from Tessie’s global journey:
- The two most southern Tigers, Mr. T and Googy, call Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, home.
- Our most northern Tigers, Leevi-Leijona and Tiina-Tiikeri, hail from Oulu, Pohjois-Pohjanmaa, Finland.
- Miguelito, a fluffy friend, resides just south of the Tigre Delta near Buenos Aires, Argentina—an area where early visitors once mistook jaguars for tigers. Now, there truly is a tiger in the region!
- Cristiano Ronaldo, another adventurous Tessie, lives in Funchal, Portugal, an island far off the coast of Morocco.
In addition to these unique destinations, over 600+ named tigers have found homes across the globe, representing the far-reaching connections made possible by this program. Tessie’s descendants are truly making an impact.
