In recent weeks, Samtec has added to our repertoire of optical product offerings via some product line extensions and new releases. These include the following three product families: PCIEO-4G3, FOPC and OPA.
PCIEO-4G3 Option for Active Optical Cable Assemblies
This is a continuation of our industry niche of being the only optical platform that offers PCIe® Gen 3 speeds as well as supports sideband signaling via the standard iPass™ form factor. Features of the PCIEO Series -4G3 data range option:
- X4, Full Duplex
- Gen 3 speeds up to 100 meters
- Supported Sidebands: CPWRON, CPERST#, CPRSNT#, CWAKE#
- X4 to X8 adapter option available (See -4AG3 and -8AG3 options)
- Reverse compatible with previous PCIEA Gen 2 cards

FOPC Optical Patch Cables Assembly
The FOPC Series is Fiber Optic Patch Cable and is Samtec’s equivalent of an industry standard MTP patch cable. Features of the FOPC Series include:
- Available with 12 or 24 fiber ferrules
- 3, 10, or 100 meter standard lengths
- Other lengths are available with longer lead times
OPA Optical Patch Adaptor
The OPA Series is an Optical Panel Adapter that is compatible with industry standard MTP/MPO and available in one or two ports.
