Samtec Expands India Reach
“Watch out for the curry!”
That’s a warning I get from well-intentioned friends and family when I travel to India. Thanks, I guess. Personally, I love the local food from Ahmedabad in the north, to Bengaluru in the south, or the unique Portuguese influence in Goa on the Arabian Sea.
My travels to India are directly related to the fast economic growth ongoing in the now 5th largest economy on the planet. In 2025, India’s GDP will exceed $4T. Additionally, GDP growth rates typically top 6-7% per annum.
As a company, Samtec possesses a multi-decade history in India. Our office there was founded in Bengaluru. We have slowly but surely grown our team in country. However, the fast-growing local design activity, industry diversity, and vast engineering community provides a unique opportunity to expand our reach on the Subcontinent.
Expanding Samtec India Team
As our business opportunities expand, so our team on the ground has grown as well. In total, Samtec India has nearly doubled the local footprint in response to market needs.
In outside sales, India is now operating on a focused 3-region model to support the country’s scale and customer density. We have regional sales leaders in the South, the North-West, and of course the Bangalore Region. We are also hiring Field Sales Engineers (FSEs) and Market Development Managers (MDMs) in cities across the country.
At the inside sales desk, one additional Customer Support Specialist recently joined the team. Going forward, the Samtec India inside sales team will scale to a five members in our Bengaluru office.
Additionally, Samtec localized design-in support with the hiring of our first India-based Field Application Engineer (FAE). Shushil Kumar brings years of design and test experience to help our customers troubleshoot and implement the latest Samtec interconnect solutions.
On the marketing side, new Marketing Development Manager Reynold Paul leverages decades of industry experience developing India-specific content the local market. Touching More Customers
The Samtec India team is here to help customers small and large. However, Samtec relies on our global authorized distributors like Arrow, Avnet, Digikey, Mouser, TTI, and others to expand our footprint and deepen relationships at key OEMs. Regional and industry-focused distributors help reach specialized customer bases as well.
Unified GlobalTech (I) Pvt Ltd was recently announced as an authorized distributor. Our new partner helps ensure that Indian customers now benefit from local presence, faster engagement, and application-focused support, across demanding industries such as data centers, telecom, aerospace & defense, industrial automation, automotive & EV, and AI/ML systems. Samtec works with Source Technologi specifically in the Bengaluru region.
In partnership with our distributors, the local team is focused on conducting more in-person events across the country. A good example is a recent Tech Day with the engineering team with VVDN in Delhi, held in conjunction with Integrated Electronics.
New Samtec India Office
Samtec has had an office in Bengaluru for decades. Due to our ongoing growth, we are moving into a larger office in a modern office park. The new office will feature a demo room similar to Samtec offices in Silicon Valley, Boston, and Taipei. Samtec India customers will be able to interact with the local team and see live product demonstrations while observing our high-performance interconnect solutions in real world settings.
