Samtec’s RF product and service offering continues to grow. Here’s a quick overview of the major developments:
Expanded Bulls Eye® Offering: Bulls Eye high-performance test point systems are now available in 50 GHz and 20 GHz designs, with systems up to 65 GHz in development. A compression interface, small footprint, and high cycle count make Bulls Eye ideal for high-performance test applications. The high-density array design significantly saves PCB space compared to traditional test points.
Our new BE40A series is a 50 GHz, double row system with signal and ground pogo pins. It’s available in microstrip or stripline PCB transmission and is backward compatible with legacy, double row BDRA series 20 GHz solutions (stripline only).
New High-Performance, Microwave Cable With Copper Foil Shielding: The RF23C series, with performance to 50 GHz, is available in two end options: 2.92 mm and 2.40 mm. This is a 50Ω, 23 AWG solid dielectric low-loss microwave cable.
12G-SDI: Samtec has the largest variety of 12G-SDI RF products available: BNC, HD-BNC™, and DIN 1.0/2.3 with a variety of orientation and termination options. The highest demand rack interconnect solutions are 75 Ω, BNC. As density continues to increase, having a low-profile BNC solution becomes crucial.
Samtec’s BNC7T-J-P-XX-RA-BH2D is now available, with an even lower-profile right-angle solution coming soon. To ensure ease of integration, Samtec also offers 75 Ω, BNC solutions in standard straight through-hole terminations, tall through-hole terminations, edge mount (for 1.60 mm or 2.40 mm thick PCBs), and die-cast and machined options. Precision RF – 34 / 40 / 50 / 65 GHz: Samtec is expanding its high-performance test offering with a roadmap to 65 GHz (1.85 mm & SMPM (2.40 mm to 50 GHz)). Precision products already available include 34 GHz (3.50 mm) and 40 GHz (2.92 mm & SMP). This will also expand high-performance microwave cable options, as precision interconnect performance highly depends upon the performance of the cable to which it is terminated.
