NAB Show Preview – Samtec Details Latest 12G-SDI Interconnect Solutions

From April 6-11, NAB Show 2019 takes over the Las Vegas Convention Center.

New 12G-SDI Product Launches
Samtec offers the largest variety of 12G-SDI solutions on the market. The products come in a variety of sizes that include BNC, HD-BNC™, and DIN 1.0/2.3 interconnects.
NAB 2019 will see the global launch of the BNC7T -BM1D product. The new solution offers a 75 Ohm BNC Low Profile, Mixed Technology Die Cast Bulkhead Jack. Key features include:
- A sleek combination of electrical and mechanical properties
- Adequate surface area for machine pick-and-place vacuum sealing
- Balanced mass distribution allows use of pick-and-place machine during assembly without fixturing

New and Improved 12G-SDI Demos
As Samtec’s 12G-SDI portfolio continues to expand, new demonstrations copy real-world applications. Samtec RF engineer extraordinaire Chris Shelly will offer details in two key areas.
The first demo offers 12G-SDI connector Return Loss (RL) performance. The baseline RL is defined per the SMPTE ST-2082-1 specification.
Having one mated connector pair conform to the SMPTE ST-2082-1 specification is one thing. What about more than one? What about different connector types? Talk with Chris in booth C1050 at the show for answers.
The second demo showcases actual 12G-SDI signal processing and transmission. A 12G-SDI signal generator with a test pattern easily pass through short cable assemblies and a single connector set.
