In August, we focused on continued updates to our new login system, released a few new content pages, and shifted gears to cleaning up some back-end technical debt that has built up over the last few months.
Here are the major updates to Samtec.com for August 2019.
Continued Updates to Login System

We began to launch our new login system in late July / early August, which we wrote about here. Check out all of the new features by visiting that post.
In the remainder of August, we focused on continuing to increase the user experience, squash some minor bugs from the release, and building new features to set up the system for its next phase of development.
- Updated admin tools to help users with account issues
- Updated security settings with SendGrid for better transactional email deliverability
- Better cookie management across our different subdomains
- Easier account recovery options for users that get locked out of their accounts
- Automating several stages of the account setup process to be more efficient for users
Our next steps with this system are to fix any final bugs, then move onto setting up more detailed profile management features. This will allow users to have a more personalized experience across Samtec.com. Keep an eye out for these features in late 2019 and early 2020.
Update to Accelerate Micro Arrays Page

We just released a new content experience for our not-yet-released AcceleRate® micro arrays product, (APM6/APF6) which features a flexible open-pin-field design with extreme performance to 56 Gbps NRZ/112 Gbps PAM4.
This system is also data rate compatible with PCIe® Gen 5 speeds and 100 GbE. Not only are these arrays fast, but AcceleRate® is also cost optimized, which makes it ideal for applications where speed is crucial but cost is limited.

New FMC+ Extender Card Page

Engineers prototyping with industry-standard FPGA evaluation and development kits often leverage the FMC+ interface for I/O expansion that fits their application needs. In some cases, the mating height of the standard FMC+ connectors may prevent fully leveraging the connectivity options of all FMC+ modules.
In response to that need, Samtec has developed the FMC+ Extender Card for placement between FPGA Carrier Cards and FMC+ Modules. This increased space can be used for additional I/O expansion during development.

New COBO Industry Standards Page

This sub-specification of COBO (Consortium for On-Board Optics) defines the characteristics of COBO Compliance Boards (CCB), which are used for electrical and optical testing of COBO networking equipment.
The CCB includes a Host Compliance Board (HCB) and a Module Compliance Board (MCB) which support 400GAUI-8 C2M interfaces.
Check out the new COBO page that details how Samtec supports this standard here.
