In April, we took some time to update a variety of content on Samtec.com with additional technical information, and also created the first batch of many interactive 3D product explorers.
Here are the major updates to Samtec.com this month.
New Immersion Cooling Page
Immersion cooling is the process of immersing electronic hardware in a non-conductive liquid such as Engineered Fluids Electrocool EC-130 or 3M Fluorinert FC-43. Data Centers are among the largest users of immersion cooling to lower their overall energy consumption.
As computing power continues to increase, so does the need to remove heat from those computing systems. The traditional method of using fans is loud, and it also loses efficiency as the ambient temperature increases. Immersion cooling eliminates the need for fans and heat sinks and offers a more energy-efficient method of cooling while eliminating the noise from fans.
Samtec has a number of testing methods that are used to verify that a wide variety of our products will function in an immersion-cooled environment. You can learn more about this technology and the products we have tested with it on this new page.

You can try all of them by clicking through to the pages above. Here is an example of the SEARAY explorer in full-screen window.
Updates to Lead Times across Samtec.com
With the current pandemic situation, unfortunately, lead-times have been impacted for our entire industry. While Samtec’s manufacturing flexibility has allowed us to pivot quickly and work on getting caught up, there is no avoiding the issues the pandemic has caused.
We have updated Samtec.com to show accurate lead-times across the website in many areas. Many products are still available quickly, while some are being delayed.
For the most up-to-date and accurate lead times use your My Samtec account, chat, or call us anytime for the latest information.
