The Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact our lives in both expected and unexpected ways. Unfortunately, one of the expected ways is a drop in charitable donations. Analysts predict anywhere from a 6% decrease – with many planning for a bigger decline than that. Also, more than half non-profits expecting a decrease in giving in 2020.
Here’s reason #1,298 why I love working for Samtec: despite the pandemic, Samtec continues to move forward with our Samtec Cares program.
What Is Samtec Cares?
The Samtec Cares Grant program was created to positively impact and assist organizations within the communities in which Samtec associates live, work, and go to school and play. Grants are awarded to applying and qualified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, up to $50,000 per grant.
Since the majority of Samtec employees come from surrounding towns and cities, Samtec has a big role as we look to improve the quality of life for our associates when they leave work for the day.
Samtec Cares Grant Cycle
Samtec Cares awards grants on both a Summer and Winter grant cycle. The team is currently evaluating applications for distributions to be made at the end of December, 2020. In recent years grants have totaled on average $462,000 per grant cycle, or nearly $1 million per year. Click here to learn more about Samtec Cares and the grant cycles.
The grant applications are evaluated on an equitable basis considering such factors as project need, project impact, organizational capacity, and financial implications.
