In March, we rolled out some exciting upgrades to Samtec.com, including adding part numbers in bulk more easily, a major improvement to our keyword search, an easier way to find packaging alternatives, and a few new pieces of content.
Here are the major updates to Samtec.com for March 2021.
An Easier Way to Find Different Packaging Options
Recently we rolled out an upgrade to the Product Detail Page, and the Pricing and Delivery sections of our website to make choosing different packaging types easier.
With Samtec products, the part number you choose often determines the type of packaging you get. Since packaging often plays a role in automation, such as tape & reel or tube packaging, it’s important that you are able to get access to the correct part number in order to get the right type of packaging for your project.
Now, this is much easier on Samtec.com. On any product that has various types of packaging, you’ll now notice a grid that shows the other options for that same product in different packaging types. The part numbers will be slightly different, but the products will be exactly the same. We’ve also provided notes on each of these products to better understand how you’ll receive them.

Keyword Search Upgrade, Powered by Octopart
Recently we rolled out an upgrade to our keyword search on the website that brings several major improvements to the way users can search for products on Samtec.com.
Prior to this upgrade, most keyword searches resulted in directing users to a list of matching series. With this upgrade, we’ve partnered with Octopart to deliver the ability to match to specific part numbers, and integrate their intelligent parametric filtering within the search as well.
Starting with a keyword search of something like “high-speed connectors” for example, users will be presented with a list of matching part numbers, as well as category and specs filters.
These will allow users to sort through different product categories, such as connectors, edge cards, board to board, cables, etc. The specs will allow users to apply different parametric filters based on the search results, such as number of rows, pitch, number of positions, plating, etc. Users can also filter by products that are currently in stock and ready to ship immediately.

An Easier Way to Add Part Numbers in Bulk to Your Cart
It has never been easier to add a part to your shopping cart across Samtec.com. Users can now copy and paste up to 25 part numbers and quantities from a spreadsheet using the “Add to Cart” tool at the top of the website.
The easiest way to do this is to create a spreadsheet with two columns. The first column would be the Samtec Part Number. The second column would be the quantity. Then simply copy the contents of your spreadsheet, click into the first part number box that pops up, and paste your products directly into the first part number box.

Addition of the F-221 Digital Catalog to the Website
Just released a couple of weeks ago as I write this post is our new F-221 catalog, and I have to say, it’s one of the coolest we’ve ever done. The pages have been completely redesigned and simplified, and the graphics are stunning, including the tiger that graces the front cover.
You can download a digital version of the new catalog on the Literature page today and you can always email [email protected] to request a physical copy.
New Content Page for “High-Speed Dual Row Strips”
Samtec offers the largest variety of high-speed board-to-board interconnects in the industry with full engineering support, online tools and an unmatched service attitude.
High-speed mezzanine solutions include Q Strip® ground plane connectors for reliable performance in space-saving designs, as well as Edge Rate® connector strips optimized for signal integrity performance to 56 Gbps PAM4 in a wide variety of stack heights.
New Content Page for “Ultra Micro Interconnects”
Samtec’s ultra micro interconnects feature fine pitches, slim body designs and extremely low profiles for incredible design flexibility with high-speed performance up to 56 Gbps PAM4. Self-mating Razor Beam™ interconnects reduce inventory costs, and can be interchanged for a variety of stack heights from 5 to 12 mm with optional EMI shielding. Razor Beam™ contacts feature undercut retention notches with an audible click when mated; this increases mating/unmating forces by 4 to 6 times compared to typical micro pitch connectors.
Micro Blade & Beam systems feature incredibly fine pitches and ultra low stack heights down to 2 mm. For a power/signal application, these interconnects are compatible with mPOWER® ultra micro power system. Jack screw standoffs are available for unmating assistance and protection from component damage.
