This Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) and Expo kicks off the week of September 26th in Dayton, Ohio. The focus of this meeting is to discover new advancements and progress made for the functionality and interoperability of modular open system environments.
Samtec is helping with these advancements through work in standards bodies, where we continue to push the signal integrity and rugged interconnect solutions available.
Before we get too far in the conversation I do want to point out a glossary of acronyms at the bottom of the article. As I started to review the groups involved it became apparent that spelling out all parties involved may have doubled the word count!
Going Faster with Open Standards
This is the theme of this year’s TIM 2022. Hosted by the AFLCMC4 the event will feature DoD6 leaders and members of the FACE2 and SOSA1 consortiums.
The idea is that more industry partners and more users of the systems developed means products can be brought to the market and implemented faster.
The graphic shown here is from the Open Group’s TIM 2022 page and shows just how many inputs and users there are. It also shows more acronyms/working groups involved that I did not even touch on below!
SWaP can also help you Go Faster!
SWaP9 is an important part of what Samtec is presenting at the TIM 2022. In previous blogs we have talked about VNX or VNX+. These standards are an important part of the SFF10 portion of the SOSA standard.
Samtec will be presenting “Evolving Small Form Factor Architecture for SOSA” at 2:30pm (EST) in the thrid floor Theater. This paper is a collection of Deployments and Considerations and ways to implement this new form factor. This paper was put together with help of Industry partners like Collins Aerospace, Antara Teknik, and Ideas-TEK.
If you are not able to make the show and would like to learn more about what is presented or how else Samtec works in the SFF and Rugged markets please reach out to us at
