In the last post where I detailed our new Solution Blocks pages we talked about how each Samtec Solution Block aims to solve a specific need. In this post, we’ll dive a little deeper into how our Product Group pages are laid out. We won’t go into every single page, because most are laid out similarly, but we’ll still take a good peek at one of them.
What Are The Product Groups?
First, let’s go over some terminology. For us, a Product Group is like a sub-category of a larger segment. For example, if you were buying tennis shoes, you might break that down into various types and brands of shoes. We’re doing something similar here. Let’s start with our High-Speed Board-to-Board block.
For our High-Speed Board-to-Board Solution Block, we break this down into 5 separate Product Groups, listed below. Each group aims to solve a more specific problem within the Solution Block and contains a few key features to help customers get to products more quickly.
- High-Density Arrays
- High-Speed Dual Row Strips (Mezzanine)
- High-Speed Edge Cards
- Ultra Micro Interconnects
- Backplane Connectors

With our High-Density Arrays page, we have a large hero image at the top. This is designed to help the customer understand that they are in the correct place from the start. From there, we have a short introduction to the products. We also link to our Solutionator® on this page so customers can begin the Mated Set selection process if they desire at this point.
From there we offer some brief technical information as well as a link to the Product Literature for the Product Group, and then get straight into the families.

Within the product family section of these pages, you’ll notice a bold-colored heading for each family, as well as an image of the products you can find within each one. Hovering over the “Products” dropdown menu will give you a list of the series we offer, and will swap out the image you see with that specific product image. Each family section within the Product Group pages will also show a short description of the family as well as several key technical features.

Towards the bottom of the page after the families, there is further navigation to the rest of the Product Groups within that Solution Block, in case users want to browse other areas.
These pages of the website are far more standardized than the previous Solution Block pages, so I won’t go into each one, but if you want to browse them, you can access the sub-navigation links from the square blocks on the Solution Block page.
