In June, we spent the majority of our time beefing up several areas of My Samtec. We also made a few tweaks to the Tech Specs pages to provide even more technical data to help you make your product decisions.
Here are the major updates to Samtec.com for June of 2018.
Performance Increases to My Samtec
My Samtec is our e-commerce portion of the website, where users can manage procurement activity, such as pricing and lead time information, samples, orders, quotes and more.
We spent the past several weeks rolling out a major change to this area of the website to use several new APIs to access all of this information. These APIs are far more efficient and responsive than the legacy code we had been using in this area of the website. This makes the user experience much more snappy, which is a great time saver for many of our My Samtec power users.
Beyond these performance upgrades, there is also much more information available in the Quotes area as well as an upgrade grid with an improved user experience (no screenshot due to data privacy). If you’d like to see the updates, you can check them out here. You’ll need to be registered and logged in to My Samtec.
The launch of these new APIs and their integration into the website is a major step towards the evolution of e-commerce capabilities on Samtec.com.
Processing Gets Its Own “Tech Specs” Block
Processing information has long been one of our top support requests. We’ve now added a standalone processing block to our Technical Specifications pages to display all applicable processing documentation for the product that you are viewing.
You can access this by clicking the “Processing” tab where available.
Here is an example on the SEAF product page
Note: You will also notice that a direct link to our Processing support page has been added to our main navigation for even easier access to documentation and our processing support group.
