In July we rolled out several new content updates to the website, as well as a brand new streamlined checkout experience. We also made some updates to the recently released FSE locator tool to make it far easier to find your local Samtec FSE.
Here are the major web updates for July 2018.
Silicon-to-Silicon Content Updates
As data rate requirements approach and surpass 56 Gbps, developers are challenged with balancing increasing throughput, scalability and density demands with concerns such as power consumption, signal integrity, cost and time-to-market.
Samtec helps address these challenges with industry-leading expertise in high-performance interconnect design, system optimization, and innovative strategies and technologies for the demands of next generation data transmission.
In July, we updated the content in our Silicon-to-Silicon section of the website to better highlight our capabilities and products in this rapidly growing area for Samtec. These areas include High Speed Backplane, High Speed Mezzanine, Twinax Flyover Systems, High Performance Optics, Advanced Microelectronics, and Precision RF and Test Systems.
Check out the new pages by clicking on the Silicon-to-Silicon section of the main navigation on Samtec.com. Here are the links as well.

More to come about these updates and capabilities in a future blog post.
New Streamlined Checkout Experience

If you’re an OEM user, CM user, or Guest user, you’ll now be presented with the new process by default. If you have a sample in your cart you’ll get the old process for now. We’re still working on getting these systems integrated with one another.
There are several helpful tools throughout this process to do things like:
- Default saved information based on your account
- Autofill certain areas based on global address databases
- Copy down address information if these are the same
- Apply shipping options to all lines with a single click
Our thought process behind this experience is to get you from top to bottom as quickly as possible, so you can focus on the rest of the things you need to in your day.

Find Your Local FSE Easier

This new tool will match you up with your local FSE (Field Sales Engineer) based on your current location. Previously, to find this information was a few step process to navigate to our Locations page, find your location, and then sort through a list of names near you.
Additionally, we’ve added some new user experience tweaks to this tool to find your FSE much easier, as well as get you back to your browsing experience quicker.

New IEEE and PISMO Pages

To continue our revamping of the Standards section of Samtec.com, we have released two new pages this month.
IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and its members inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow through its more than 423,000 members in over 160 countries, and its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE is the trusted “voice” for engineering, computing, and technology information around the globe.
Check out the new IEEE page here:
PISMOTM is the Platform Independent Storage Module Standard that is run by an advisory council made up by Spansion, ARM, NanoAmp, SMedia, Spreadtrum, Toshiba, Analog Devices, Broadcom, Cypress, M Systems and Micron Technology, Inc.
