

IMS 2022 is a week dedicated to all things microwave and RF. It’s the premier event where thousands of RF and microwave professionals will gather this June for networking, education, and to visit the exhibition.

Demonstrations, Displays

Flexible Waveguide: Samtec’s new, high-frequency micro waveguide technology is designed to support the demands of next-generation systems by targeting millimeter wave frequencies. It’s an alternative solution that is flexible, easier to use, and lower cost, while also maintaining low insertion loss. This proof-of-concept V-band demonstration is running actual 10 Gbps Ethernet modulated traffic at 60 GHz through Samtec’s flexible waveguides, using Vubiq’s Haul Pass V10G product main board.
1.85 mm RF System: With our friends at Rohde and Schwarz we’ll be using their ZNA 67 to demonstrate the capabilities of our 1.85 mm compression mount RF cable system.
Tunable RF Filters: This live product demonstration, in partnership with Otava, Rohde & Schwarz, and Avnet, highlights the flexibility and configurability of Otava’s family of tunable RF filters combined with Samtec compression mount connectors featured in easy-to-use evaluation and development platforms.

70 GHz Test Point System + 112 Gbps PAM4: This demonstration shows how 70 GHz Bulls Eye can be used in a real-life evaluation board environment. Bulls Eye is ideal for high-performance test-point applications because of its compression interface, small footprint, and high cycle count. Samtec Bulls Eye systems are rated at 20, 50, and 70 GHz.
100 GHz Bandwidth Connector Launches Demystified
As the demand for higher frequencies and wider bandwidths continue their relentless march upward, RF connectors need to keep up and even exceed this demand. Mating the RF connector to a PCB or substrate requires careful consideration of several factors to get the full performance out of the connector.
