Here is Your New Pricing and Delivery Program on Samtec.com
As we continue to migrate legacy applications from Samtec.com to our new software stack and architecture, our Pricing and Delivery application was the latest to get an upgrade. With tens of thousands of users daily, this is one of the most highly used applications on the website.
Let’s take a tour of some of the features of this widely popular self-service tool.
Pricing and Delivery Features
It may seem like a simple tool at first, but when you peel back the layers, a whole lot is going on to provide Sudden Service® to our Samtec.com users with this application.
Users start by entering any valid part number and a quantity for their pricing. Most part numbers can be shown with as little as a single piece, however some part numbers sold in reels or with minimum order quantities will require higher. Users can also click the “Multiple Parts” button to enter up to 50 parts at a time.
Lookup Price – Within a couple of seconds, users will see an eye-catching green area with their pricing for the quantity entered, making it very simple to see. From there, we’ll also show a pricing grid of different price breaks so users do not have to do multiple lookups.
Reserve – If the product is in Samtec Reserve® (200,000 products that ship in 1-day), we’ll show a badge that indicates this.
Add to Cart and Sample – Users can also Add to Cart and place a Sample Request from this screen.
In the next area of the application, we’ll see more helpful information to help users make their decision as quickly as possible.
Packaging Information – Users can see what type of packaging they’ll receive, such as Bulk, Tape and Reel, etc.
Similar Parts – Just in case this part isn’t 100% correct, users can also see a list of similar parts. Most differences come in plating and packaging, so this can often be helpful to compare pricing across these attributes.
Delivery Info – This area will show when the parts can be shipped and how they will ship, which also includes the Probable Country of Origin (this can be helpful with logistics and potential tariffs)
Towards the bottom of the application, we also have a block that will show users distributor stock, just in case that is the fulfillment option, or if we don’t have enough in stock at that time. This is just another way we want to make sure you get the parts you need as quickly as possible.
Full Mobile Compatibility – Lastly, this application is fully compatible with smartphone devices, allowing users to do pricing and delivery research from their phones, bringing another layer of service to users of this application.
