In October, we updated the search for mobile users, released a couple of new content pages for COM-HPC® and Eye Speed®, and began the final steps to prepare our fully rebuilt Pricing and Quotes applications.
Here are the major updates to Samtec.com for October 2024.
Updated Search Experience for Mobile Users
Rewind 10 years ago and mobile device use such as smartphones and tablets was almost non-existent in the B2B space. Today, mobile and tablet traffic accounts for over 30% of Samtec.com traffic specifically.
A few weeks ago we wrote about our split search launch on desktop devices. As of this web update, this feature has now been released for mobile users. Users can now easily toggle between Product and Content results on their mobile phones. and filter within each area using the filters at the top of the page.
In the Product results area, users can filter by Reserve status as well as a number of physical product characteristics.
In the Content area, users can filter between Pages and Blog content, Documentation, Videos, Keymatches, and more.

Revamp of COM-HPC® Page
The development of COM-HPC® exceeds the demand for high-speed performance in embedded CoMs/SoMs. COM-HPC® coexists with the COM Express® specification but provides scalability and enhanced performance for next-gen embedded system design.
The base COM-HPC® specification defines two module types. COM-HPC® server modules are targeted for edge server applications. COM-HPC® client modules support robust embedded computing. The COM-HPC® 1.2 specification introduced a more compact client form factor, COM-HPC® Mini, targeting traditional embedded computing applications.
COM-HPC® also provides access to more system memory (up to 1 TB RAM) and system flexibility for various compute engines beyond x86 architectures like RISC-V CPUs, GPGPUs, FPGAs and DSPs.

Final Preparation for Brand New Pricing and Quotes Applications
As I write this post, our new Pricing and Quotes applications are still only available via direct URL, but we are making the final preparations to fully launch them to users to replace the legacy applications built in the early 2010s, over a decade ago.
Once released, users will have access to a fully rebuilt application with an upgraded interface. It will be familiar with the same functionality as the previous application, with much-improved performance and reliability due to the improved infrastructure.
We’ll also be replacing the online quote form with a new step-by-step application that will deliver an easier-to-use quoting process for users. We hope this results in less friction for users to place quote requests online.
Look for this to launch on Samtec.com in the next 2-3 weeks!
