In October 2020, we mainly worked behind the scenes on laying the foundation for a couple of new applications we’ll have coming your way in early 2021, but we also made time to release a few useful content and design updates for users.

We’ll also cover our some of our testing procedures and show you where you can find these products throughout the Samtec website.

Updated Discrete Wire Component Data Design
Back in January 2020, we rolled out a new experience for component data for our discrete wire products. This update has been very well received. In that blog post, we promised some version 2 updates that would better organize the new data.
With this update, we’re happy to announce version 2 of this update, which streamlines the experience even further. All of the same information is available but in a much more compact and easily digestible manner.

New Cable Management Video
Using ultra-low skew twinax cable to route signals over the board is a key performance enabler as signal reach and integrity needs continue to become ever more important in high-speed applications.
Samtec works with system architects in the early stages of design to create solutions for cable management with even distribution of thermal load.

Introduction of Samtec Reserve™ Parts
Samtec Reserve™ is a new designation that we’ve provided on over 200,000 (and growing) connectors and cables. These are popular stocked parts that are guaranteed to ship in 1-day. Basically, if you see this badge, you can sleep better knowing your product will arrive quickly.
You’ll now see this badge beginning to appear throughout the website. It currently exists on full part and series pages, and we’ll be adding it to applications such as Solutionator and Search in the coming weeks.
New High Density-Arrays Content Page
Samtec high-density array connectors feature a variety of pitches, stack heights, and configurations for maximum routing, grounding, and design flexibility.
This new page is similar to our existing high-density arrays page, but adds content such as a hero graphic to highlight products, a dedicated downloadable brochure, a helpful comparison chart, and new product imagery.
For now, this page is an experiment to see how the content is received, but you may see more of them popping up throughout Samtec.com. Take a look at this new high-density arrays content page here.
