This month we added additional capabilities for users to manage order dates online, enhanced the ability to search part numbers, added a couple of new pieces of product literature, and improved the address matching in our checkout process.
Here are the major website updates to Samtec.com for November 2022.
All Users Can Now Manage Order Dates Online

Prior to the pandemic in early 2020, we released a feature that allowed a small subset of users to edit requested ship dates on open orders using their My Samtec account.
This feature was well-received and highly used for a few months. Then we all know what happened in the spring of 2020. Supply chains were disrupted and lead times across multiple industries skyrocketed. Our industry was not spared. At that time, we had to pull that feature due to those lingering bottlenecks.
However, that gave us time to rebuild the code in a much better way, which is now far more scalable, and will allow this feature to be open to all user types. It will also allow us to extend it beyond just editing ship dates.

New Product Overview and Technical Overview Guides

If you haven’t seen the product literature page on the Samtec website lately, now is a good time to give it a look. On top of the wide variety of product literature across all of our Solution Blocks, we have also just released our newest Product Overview Guide and Technology Overview Guide.
You’ll find these on the top row.
The Product Overview Guide takes you through each of our six Solution Blocks, detailing the product offerings within each one, and various resources throughout the website which support each one.
The Technology Overview Guide details how Samtec is supporting many forms of emerging technology, such as 5G, AI, ML, and Automotive. It will also give you a preview of what’s to come with some of our most exciting flagship products.
Take a look at these exciting new literature pieces, available in physical or digital forms.

Search Part Numbers Without Dashes

A small, but useful update to our search rolled out in November. Prior to this update, users needed to type in the “-” (dash) characters in our part numbers correctly in order to get a part number match.
This update allows users to enter part numbers without dashes and get to a part number just as easily.
