The new year started off strong with the release of a major new tool to search High-Speed Board-to-Board products. We also upgraded several other tools and released a few solid content updates to the website.
Here are the major updates to Samtec.com in January 2022.
Brand New High-Speed Board to Board Solutionator Tool
Sequels are sometimes just as good or better than the original. To follow our release of our popular Flex Stacking Solutionator, we have just released a similar tool geared towards High-Speed Board-to-Board products.
This new tool will allow you to search through hundreds of thousands of products to arrive at a direct mated set in a matter of seconds.

Set a Preferred 3D Model Download Type
Our web users download tens of thousands of 3D models from Samtec.com every month, so we thought we’d make it a little bit easier. Users can now set a preferred 3D model download type in their profile and download models in this format in just a couple of clicks.

Add to Your Project Lists From Anywhere
Back in the fall of 2021, we released a feature allowing users to create project lists to organize their parts for various projects. We’ve now added the ability to add to these projects from multiple different places across the website outside of the Cart. Users can add to them from:
- Search
- Series and Product Pages
- Solutionator
- Cart
- Profile
Just look for the “Move To Project List” dropdown in these areas of the website.

Brand New About Samtec Experience
Just a few days ago as I write this post, we just released a brand new version of our “About” page. This page tells the story of Samtec, who we are, details our global presence, products, core values, and shows off how we are truly “A Different Breed of Cat”.

Upgraded PCI Express Family Page
PCI Express® is an I/O interconnect bus standard (which includes a protocol and a layered architecture) that expands on and doubles the data transfer rates of original PCI. PCI Express® is a two-way, serial connection that carries data in packets along two pairs of point-to-point data lanes, compared to the single parallel data bus of traditional PCI that routes data at a set rate.
Samtec offers a number of connector and cable solutions that support the PCI Express® I/O interconnect bus.
We just released a new version of our PCI Express page. You can find this under our Edge Card and Industry Standards sections of the website.

Find Similar Parts in Your Cart
We’ve been running a feature on our Part Number pages for several months which allows users to click a tab and see similar products to the one they are viewing. Differences in products might be things like plating, packaging, cable length, and others. It’s also easy to see if a part is available in our Reserve program, which are stocked and guaranteed to ship in a day.
We’ve now pulled this information into the Cart for users to take advantage of there as well. On the Cart page, just click the “View Similar Parts” link that shows up under each line and you’ll see a simple modal pop up with all of the products that match.
