We recently worked with Supplyframe on their “Engineering Smarter with Samtec” video to highlight some ways that Samtec helps the engineering community design their products more efficiently. We understand that a connector may seem like a small piece of the puzzle in a full system.
Samtec and Supplyframe want to make sure you have all the support and tools at your disposal to select the right solution for your system. Check out the video and then read on for additional information or links that you may see.
If you have been watching the news recently, you will see that Supplyframe was recently acquired by Siemens. You can read more about it in their press release Here. “Combining Supplyframe’s knowhow with Siemens’ leading software enables customers to innovate and develop products faster” Supplyframe, has always been passionate about helping companies and individuals make better decisions so they can bring better products to market faster. Utilizing the tools and support on Samtec.com only makes this process easier and more efficient.
A small piece of the puzzle in the value chain.
While thinking of how big our interconnect puzzle piece is, I was attempting to find the right analogy to convey this. If you look at the human body, the brain and nervous system make up about 3%-4% of the total weight. About 2% is the brain itself and the rest would be the spinal cord and nerves.
With the majority of Samtec’s products being passive, we would compare ourselves to the nervous system. For this analogy 2% of the system may not sound like a lot, but if you were to ask someone who has a pinched or damaged nerve they would tell you how impactful that small piece is. Samtec is aware of how important the right connector is for your design and continues to build digital assets to help you engineer smarter.
Our web team here at Samtec is top notch. If you follow the blogs, you will see updates from some of that team as new features roll out. Some of these updates are new landing pages or ways to find the solution you are after. If you have not already read this recent blog about Carvana there is a list of digital assets designed to help you begin engineering smarter.
A couple of the heaviest hitting digital assets are our Solutionator and Part Configurator that Supplyframe mentions in their video.
The Solutionator is a parametric search using various features and performance. These filters include not only pin counts and orientations, but also Optical, Ethernet, Storage, and I/O protocols. You can check it out by clicking on the image or reading about some of the details in this blog.
The part configurator comes in when you know your part or series but you want to modify or explore some of that series specific configurations. This is also one of the locations where you can download a 3d model in the design software of your choosing.
We invite you to explore these digital assets and more on our website. We hope they help you in your efforts to begin engineering smarter and more efficiently. If there are features or tools that you think would be helpful to add, please reach out to our Technical Marketing Team and we would be happy to help.
