With now well over 100 videos that are featured in various places in Samtec.com, and the recent release of our Video Search capability, it became evident that we needed an updated central location to house all of these videos for users that wanted to easily browse all of our video content without having to go through our search results.
A few weeks ago, we rolled out the first version of this new feature on Samtec.com, which is all dynamically driven using the very user-friendly Vimeo API.
All we have to do to add a new video to this section is check a box in Vimeo, and the API will pipe in the new video automatically. This made our web team very happy. Otherwise this would have been a maintenance nightmare, which no one likes.

Videos Now Browseable
You can find this new feature by navigating to the Support page and clicking on “Literature” (this link will soon say “Catalogs, Literature, and Videos”). As I write this post, the videos are in a browseable list at the bottom once you click on this link.

Each video can then be clicked to open in a new modal window for viewing. Hundreds of videos are available, so just click the “View More” button to see them all.
A few features that have already been requested are a standalone page for all videos, sorting based on various features of each video, and an updated style to the thumbnails. We’re considering these requests and more for the next version!
