The catalog is categorized by six Solution Blocks – High-Speed Board-to-Board, High-Speed Cable, Optics, RF, Rugged/Power and Flexible Stacking.
Rugged/Power received the largest overhaul from the previous catalog with the addition of Ultra Rugged products. Ideal for extreme/harsh environment applications, Ultra Rugged includes power I/O, 38999, sealed and compact optics, VITA 90 VNX+, hardware and high-reliability plating solutions.
High-Speed Cable receives the award for Most New Products, featuring front panel, mid-board, backplane, PCIe® and test cables. These new products expand Samtec’s Flyover® high-speed cable offering with extreme performance up to 112 Gbps PAM4.

These 0.635 mm pitch power/signal combination arrays (UDF6/UDM6) achieve 64 Gbps PAM4 speeds, and are PCIe® 6.0 capable. Rotated power blades allow for equal access to heat escape for uniform cooling, increased current capacity and reduced crowding, making AcceleRate® mP best in class for power and signal. The open-pin-field design allows for routing and grounding flexibility.
This micro rugged backplane system (NVBF/NVBM-RA) combines ultra-high density with an offset footprint for optimal signal integrity performance to 112 Gbps PAM4. The ultra-high density design allows for up to 128 differential pairs in a single connector with configurable signal banks for design flexibility. For performance up to 112 Gbps PAM4, the trusted NovaRay® wafer design eliminates intra-pair skew along with large continuous ground blades between and surrounding the differential pairs, which remove resonances. Flyover® cable assembly in development for extended signal reach.
This system (NVACP/NVACE/NVC) offers the highest aggregate data rate in the market, up to 3,584 Gbps PAM4, with a high-density cable-to-cable bulkhead panel connection. Flyover® cable technology routes data above lossy PCB to simplify board layout and extend signal reach, from the IC package to the panel and beyond. Currently in development is a 38999 version (NVA3P/NVA3E) that is salt fog resistant to 48 hours with an IP67 sealed option.
This fully shielded, EMI protected I/O cable system (EBCE/EBTC) uses proven ExaMAX® technology with two reliable points of contact for 56 Gbps PAM4 performance in a cable-to-panel configuration. The high-density design features up to 72 staggered differential pairs on individual signal wafers, which increases isolation and significantly reduces crosstalk.
This system (ARM6/AMF6) delivers 112 Gbps PAM4 performance in an incredibly small form factor without sacrificing performance. Featuring Samtec’s proprietary Eye Speed® Thinax™ ultra performance twinax, this taped jacket cable is miniaturized for more dense connectors with 112 Gbps PAM4 performance. Use AcceleRate® Mini on both ends of the assembly, or with other Flyover® End 2 options for increased design flexibility.
PCIEC-G4 and PCIEC-G5 – These high-speed cable assemblies support PCI Express® 4.0 and 5.0 data transfer rates with standard 36, 64, 98 and 164 positions.
PCRF-G4 and PCRF-G5 – These test cable assemblies support PCI Express® 4.0 and 5.0 data transfer rates with 2.92 mm RF Connectors for debugging.
This optical system (ETMO/UEC5-1 or UEC5-2/UCC8) is sealed and parylene-coated with an extended temperature range of -40 ºC to +85 ºC for exposed military, aerospace and submersible applications. Accordingly, it is ruggedized for tin whisker mitigation and fungal resistance; operates in harsh environments including salt fog, blowing sand and dust, jet fuel exposure and altitudes up to 65,000 feet.
FireHawk™ ruggedized optical transceivers (RVCN/CSPO/CSSO) combine extreme density with extreme performance to meet the harshest environments of land, sea, air and space. The innovative design delivers much needed fiber optic bandwidth to a new generation of radar, vision systems, communications networks, surveillance and reconnaissance sensors. FireHawk™ is the smallest optical transceiver on the market for reliable operation in extreme applications.
This high-performance, 90 GHz test assembly (BE90A) features a high-density space saving design that enables smaller evaluation boards and shorter trace lengths in test and measurement applications. The block compression mounts to the board for placement directly adjacent to the 224 Gbps PAM4 SerDes being characterized.
Ganged, multi-position SMPM blocks and cable assemblies provide high-density and space savings for millimeter wave applications (GC47/GC86, GPPC/GPPB, PRFIA). The micro-miniature SMPM connectors operate mode-free up to 65 GHz and enable smaller bundle sizes for weight savings and increased airflow. Bullet adaptors allow for axial and radial misalignment, as well as blind mate.
Samtec’s new, high-frequency micro waveguide technology (WF12/WF15/WGBA)supports the demands of next generation millimeter wave systems. It uses a cable design allowing flexibility and a reduced size, and supports frequencies up to 90 GHz (E-band), yet also maintains loss performance similar to that of a traditional waveguide.
For increased design flexibility, mPOWER® is available in board-to-board, cable-to-board and now cable-to-cable (UMPE/UMPET, UMPI/UMPIT) solutions to help simplify board layout and deliver power directly to active components. Features include a micro 2.00 mm pitch with up to 10 power blades; panel mount and rugged latching options, as well as PVC or Teflon™ fluoropolymer wire for high-temp or halogen free applications.
