Samtec SI/PI Specialists Win DesignCon 2020 Best Paper Award
Movies have the BAFTAs and Academy Awards. Music has the GRAMMYs. Broadway has the Tonys. Global footballers have the Ballon d’Or. SI/PI engineers have the DesignCon 2020 Best Paper Award? Really? What’s that?
Many people are familiar with annual awards mentioned. For engineers working on high-speed design, a DesignCon 2020 Best Paper Award is as worthy and coveted as anything in popular culture.

Samtec proudly congratulates several of our SI/PI technical experts for winning a DesignCon 2020 Best Paper Award. This program recognizes finest technical and educational contributions made during the DesignCon.
DesignCon Best Paper Awards are chosen based on feedback from the DesignCon Technical Program Committee and event attendees. Winners are chosen based on technical merit and presentation ability
This year, Samtec technical experts Adam Gregory, Clement Luk,
Gary Biddle, Gustavo Blando and Istvan Novak in the Power & RF section. Their paper was titled “Current Distribution, Resistance & Inductance in Power Connectors”.

Mr. Novak was a repeat winner at DesignCon. He also received DesignCon 2020’s Engineer of the Year award. Mr. Novak introduced the industry’s first 25 µm power-ground laminates for large rigid computer boards, and worked with component vendors to create a series of low-inductance and controlled-ESR bypass capacitors.
