It’s no secret the world of the web has gone mobile.
In 2015, Google reported that more searches were done on mobile devices than on desktop devices.
Samtec web users tends to be more tied to their desktops than the global norm, but we still have a significant (and rapidly growing) user base that has been clamoring for mobile support.
Mobile usage of Samtec.com has increased by 224% in the past two years alone, and we anticipate this number only growing larger.
To cater to this rapidly developing user base, we’re happy to report that our mobile experience is developing nicely, even Google says so!

The ability to navigate Samtec.com on a smartphone has actually existed for several months, but until now we only had about half of the product research path covered. The meat of our product documentation was still primarily in desktop land.
With this release, we bring full mobile functionality to your iOS and Android devices on Tech Specs pages, providing you with the ability to get basic product documentation right on your smartphone (even you Blackberry and Windows phone users).
Truthfully, the device type doesn’t matter all that much. We use viewport size detection to render what you see on the screen.
No matter what type of device you’re using, as long as it renders at a screen size that we see as in the “mobile” realm, then we’re going to make sure you get the same mobile experience as everyone else.
Using responsive web design, we adjust the margins, padding, and spacing of certain on-screen elements to make sure it renders perfectly on your device. It’s a little more work up front, but we can cater to an endless amount of screen resolutions this way.
Go Ahead. Try it!
Just navigate to Samtec.com and follow the menus from the homepage to the series page. There you can download Catalog Pages, Prints, Technical Documents, and see product mates directly on your mobile device.
You can even use our sharing widget to email yourself a link for later with just a couple of clicks.

We’ve left the more complex documentation such as test reports and performance data on the tablet and desktop versions for now, but if you use the mobile version and miss those, we can certainly explore adding them.
Give it a shot and let us know how you like it. You can reach our web support department at any time at ehelpdesk@samtec.com.
