With our last web update, we brought you a full upgrade to Angular 4 throughout the website, a new experience for our VITA42 standard, a couple of new product pages, and a digital version of our brand new full line catalog.
In October we spent a lot of time preparing for our next major projects and improving some of the software foundation that helps drive the website (pun intended). We’ve worked through several project mockups for software releases we’ll be rolling out in 2018, and released a few new smaller features along the way, including a new proactive feature with our online chat service, and a couple of content pages.
Here is the summary of our web updates for October 2017.
New FlyoverTM Technology Experience
As bandwidth requirements rapidly increase routing signals through lossy PCBs, vias and other components has become one of the most complex challenges designers face.
Samtec’s flyover systems can help extend signal reach and density to achieve next gen speeds by routing signals via ultra-low skew twinax cable versus through lossy PCB.
As FPGAs take over the data center, system-level architects require technical support over the entire high-speed serial channel data path. FPGA vendors like Xilinx are working with interconnect partners like Samtec to emulate next generation data center architectures in their FPGA evaluation, development and characterization kits.
The VCU110 ExaMAX® Loopback Card routes 8 GTY MGTs from the Xilinx Virtex® UltraScaleTM FPGA through the ExaMAX® mated connector pair and back to the FPGA.
Since Samtec was founded in 1976, we have always put service first. As technology evolves, so do our service channels.
We’ve been using live chat as a support mechanism on the website for over a decade. The next evolution in our chat technology involves predicting when a user may need assistance in their website journey, and offering up our chat service at that time.
We do this by using analytics throughout the various sections of our website to offer up our chat at the optimal time. If you are on a Technical Specifications page, for example, we’ll wait several minutes before offering this service. If you’re a little bit further up the chain and seem stuck, we may offer assistance a little bit earlier.
You can always get in touch with our live chat operators in the header or the footer of the website at any time, but we think it also helps to offer assistance outside of these areas when users may otherwise be in need. Just look for the widget to pop out at the bottom right corner, hopefully at the exact right time you need it!
