In October, we shifted our focus to working on a few small and medium-sized projects that had been on the back-burner, and also chipped away at some technical debt that had been piling up, which is nerd speak for “picking up our toys.”
This type of work isn’t always glamorous, but it is necessary to keep a website up-to-date from a technical standpoint, and functioning as efficiently as possible for its users (that’s you!).
Here are the October 2019 web updates for Samtec.com
Filter by Protocols in Solutionator Parametric Search

You can now filter by various performance protocols in our Solutionator parametric search tool. These filters include Optical, Ethernet, Storage, and I/O.
Just the select “Additional Filters” checkbox and then find the “Protocol Compatibility” heading, then choose your protocol.
You’ll then see all matching mated sets in the results grid.

Build a simple path to get free samples and support from Samtec.com
Samtec has been providing free product samples since it was founded in 1976. Not only are they free, but you can also get almost any sample in about one business day.
With this update, we have created a simple way for new website users to get started with their first Samtec sample with no guesswork.
This comes in the form of an overlay on the first page a user visits. Simply sign up with your contact information, and we’ll point you in the right direction to get your first free sample.

We know not everyone likes pop-ups, so in order to maintain a high user experience, we made sure that if you click away or close the overlay, you will not see it again unless you clear your cookies and cache.
You can see an example by going to Samtec.com with a clear browser cache.

Continued updates to our APIs
Samtec.com has grown heavily in the last few years. We continued our work to bolster the back-end of Samtec.com to maximize speed and uptime of the dozens of services that keep the website up and running for users.
We should wrap this up by the end of the year, setting the stage for the next cycle of development for the website.
