In November we took time to do some tuning on the back-end architecture of Samtec.com, built a few new content pages, updated our product data in Solutionator, and added the ability to add End Customers in the Cart.
Here are the major updates to Samtec.com for November 2020.
Virtual Hardware and API Updates
This change isn’t visible on the website other than how it feels, but you’ll definitely notice it if you’re a frequent user of Samtec.com
Over the last couple of months, we’ve been working on upgrading the back-end of Samtec.com to be more efficient.
Taking advantage of some of the newest cloud architecture, we’ve upgraded our hosting to some of the newest virtual hardware available. This allows Samtec.com to run all over the world on SSDs (solid-state drives), upgraded memory, and some of the newest processors available.
We’re also upgrading several of our APIs that we used to populate data and perform actions all over the website to use more efficient architecture.
All of this means Samtec.com runs faster and more efficiently than ever.

New COM-HPC® Page
The development of COM-HPC® exceeds the demand for high-speed performance in embedded computers. COM-HPC®, expected to be ratified in early 2021, coexists with the COM Express® specification, but provides the scalability and enhanced performance for next-gen embedded system design.
COM-HPC® supports two different module types. COM-HPC® server modules are targeted for edge server applications. COM-HPC® client modules support robust embedded computing.
COM-HPC® provides access to more system memory (up to 1 TB RAM) and system flexibility for various compute engines like GPGPUs, FPGAs and DSPs.
We’ve built a new content page detailing this standard, as well as supporting Samtec connectors. We’ve even added a part configurator tool directly on the page to help with your designs.

New Concept Page for High-Speed Backplane Products
High-speed, high-density backplane systems include ExaMAX® and XCede® HD in a variety of pair and column counts. ExaMAX® enables up to 56 Gbps performance and allows designers the option to optimize density or minimize board layer count.
XCede® HD is a small form factor system with a modular design for significant space savings and flexibility.
Recently we created a more robust experience when researching our High-Speed Backplane products. This page includes detailed product imagery, a downloadable PDF, several helpful performance charts, and more to help users understand these products more easily.

Addition of Press Fit Data to Solutionator
We also added a new set of data to our Solutionator Parametric Search tool for Press Fit products. This data includes close to 400 mated sets matching the Press Fit Board Termination type.
View the new Press Fit data by going to Solutionator and choosing Press Fit with the Board Termination filter applied.
