This month we focused on adding a few new pieces of content, beefing up our VITA 57.4 capabilities, and adding several new products to our RF Solutionator.
Here were the major updates to Samtec.com for June 2022.
New URSA I/O Family Page

Samtec’s URSA™ I/O cable-to-cable and cable-to-board solutions achieve four points of contact for a reliable connection in a small form factor, which allows for extreme density on the panel. Designed for ultra rugged applications, EMI shielding helps to limit signal degradation and optimize performance.

Configure VITA 57.4 Products On Page
Samtec supports the VITA 57.4 FMC+ standard primarily with it’s SEARAY™ family of high-speed, high-density arrays. This High Serial Pin Connector (HSPC) has 560 pins arranged in a 14×40 array. While new FMC+ cards can only plug into new FMC+ carriers due to their larger connectors, original FMC cards will also fit thanks to a customized polarization system providing true backward compatibility.

We now have a full configurator to build these products right on the VITA 57.4 page, where users can then download 3D models and dimensional drawings for designing these products into their applications.
Previous to this update, we did this with a variety of hard-coded models and drawings that could be sometimes tedious to use and keep updated.

Note: We’ll be updating several more of these over time as well.
Several New Products Added to RF Solutionator
Released in late 2021, our RF Solutionator allows users to build an RF cable from end to end in just a few easy steps. Starting with your end option and cable selection, you’ll then be sent to our award-winning configurator tool to finish your remaining options. From there you can get technical information, 3D models, drawings, Add to Cart, or contact the RF group for further information.

We’ve recently added several new products to this application, which include:
- RF280 – Found in the SMA and N Type dropdowns, this cable is .277 (11 AWG) cable, low loss flexible, microwave
- RF180 – Found in the N Type dropdown, this cable is .178 (16 AWG), low loss flexible, microwave
- TNCA – This is a new end option which works with the RF280 and RF180 cables mentioned above
- RFC6T – Found in the BNC 75 Ohm, DIN 1.0/2.3, and HD-BNC, this cable is12G-SDI, Belden 4694R (18 AWG)

Default eCAD model from Profile

Lastly, we quietly launched a new feature in our growing user profile section which allows users to set a default eCAD model preference. When using the eCAD model download tool that is now featured on most of our product detail pages, this value will be used to make the download process much faster for users.
You can set or change this value at any time by going to the Preferences section of your profile – https://www.samtec.com/profile/preferences
