Wow. What a fun year for Samtec.com and the entire team behind it!
In 2017, we streamlined your online sampling experience, brought you a way to view detailed information about any of our trillions of part numbers, built an entirely new on-site search, upgraded to Azure CDN and Angular 4, provided a brand new Microelectronics experience, updated a massive amount of content on the website, and much much more.
2018 is shaping up to be even more fun. Check the bottom of this post for a sneak preview of a few things we’ll be releasing soon. Until then, here are the major web updates for December 2017.
Searchable Video Results
In 2017, we started from scratch and completely revamped our on-site search experience. Our latest addition to this application adds rich video results for any matching search, allowing you to access our hundreds of videos across all of our different products and technologies.
You’ll now see this in on the search results page on the right-hand side. Just type any search query, “low profile” for example, and look for the “Videos” tab.
If we have results, you’ll see the tab populated. You can also click the “Video” advanced filter in the “All” tab. Clicking on a video result will then allow that video to load in a modal window for viewing right within the search results.

Videos Now Browseable
To tack onto the updates we’ve been making with videos, we’ve also made all of our videos browseable on the website on our newly updated “Catalogs, Literature, and Videos” page. You can find this by navigating to the Support page and clicking on “Literature” (yes we still need a “Videos” link). The videos are in a browseable list at the bottom.

Each video can then be clicked to open in a new modal window for viewing. Hundreds of videos are available, so just click the “View More” button to see them all.
Updates to JTAG Connectors Standards Page
Our JTAG standard products are some of our most popular. Samtec’s FTSH series supports this standard in the part numbers that are now listed on the JTAG page. You can view those here, as well as get models, sample, and buy online.
New VITA Standards Landing Page
Samtec supports several VITA standards, including VITA 42 XMC and VITA 57 FMC, with more coming down the line. To better organize your web experience when searching for our coverage of the VITA standard, we’ve created a new landing page which will help you navigate this area of the website.
