Upgraded Pricing and Lead Time Application Coming Soon to Samtec.com

In the always-on world we live in, we know it’s vital that our website users be able to access information about pricing and lead time any time that they need to, 24/7.

In the next few weeks as I write this post, we’ll be releasing a brand new upgrade to our Pricing & Delivery application on Samtec.com. This application is one of the top-used programs on the website, providing thousands of users per day with up-to-date pricing and lead time for the products they need for their designs.

The current version works well enough, but like some of the other applications we have upgraded recently, it runs on aging infrastructure and code. We will be fully upgrading the entire back-end of this application to be current with all of our modern architecture and coding.

As you see in the screenshot above, we’ll also be fully upgrading the user experience to be more modern. The goal is to not rock the boat too much. We want to deliver a familiar feel with all of the same features, with an updated and modernized design.

In addition, we’ll also be making these few upgrades:

• Significantly improved speed – Users will notice this application works much faster that the previous program, especially for multiple part lookups
• Full mobile compatibility – Users will now be able to look up P&D using their mobile devices
• Support for translated languages – Users will now be able to look up P&D in native supported languages (currently German, Japanese, and Chinese)
• Upgraded quote workflow – Users will be able to submit quote requests using an upgraded workflow that simplifies the experience

After the initial release, we’ll also be working on some Phase 2 updates that will further enhance the experience. Stay tuned for more details on those as well as this release!
