The majority of Samtec.com has been translated into four additional languages, German, Hindi, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
Users can access the translated pages by navigating to Samtec.com and clicking on the “Languages” tool at the top-right of the website. This setting will be stored for the future as well, so when the user returns, their selected language will load automatically.
You can see the Japanese translation of the homepage below, for example.

Also included in this update is technology that will auto-detect the language in the user’s browser settings and direct them to the correct language if it is different than the one they’re currently viewing.
Another key features of this update that is somewhat different from other implementations across the web, is that this is all done on the Samtec.com domain, which means the user doesn’t ever have to go to a different website to access the translated content. All of the translations are provided in simple to navigate subfolders that use the exact same navigation path as the English version of Samtec.com.
This allows users and partners to still link directly to all of the translated URLs that are unique to each language without the pain of jumping from one website to another.
This turn-key process minimizes the maintenance and churn of maintaining half a dozen or more different websites, and allows our web team to focus on continuing to build a world-class experience for Samtec.com users.
What’s Next?
I mentioned that the “majority” of Samtec.com is covered with this update. We are still working on some of our deeper down pages such as our e-commerce section. These should be rolling out in Q1 of 2019 as we complete the implementation in those areas.
Try it out by navigating to https://www.samtec.com and clicking the Language tool at the top-right of the screen.
