In May, the Samtec web team released a few new content pages for the website with some exciting product developments, a new mini tool to view current carrying capacity on select products, and a homepage user experience update that allows easier access to technical support resources and our digital tools.
Here were the major updates to Samtec.com for May 2023.
Homepage Update to Digital Tools and Resources

We recently updated the homepage of Samtec.com with four new graphics in our second call-to-action area. These links will help users get to a few of our digital tools and technical support resources.
They showcase our Picture Search, which is a visual search tool to help navigate through our flagship products, our Silicon-to-Silicon section, which details our support for end-to-end product offerings and technical support, our Digital Tools page, which showcases our ever-evolving set of digital design tools, and our Signal Integrity Center page, which explains how we help support user applications through our world-class signal integrity group of engineers, resources, and product support.

Analog Over Array Kits Section

Samtec Analog Over Array™ Evaluation Kits include open-pin-field arrays that can simultaneously run analog, digital, and power signals. These standard Samtec connectors handle analog signals by using the included reference designs that specify recommended PCB stack up, launch optimizations, pin mapping guide, and full characterization report BOR. View the Samtec Analog Over Array™ eBrochure for more information.

New VITA 88 XMC+ Video

Based on XMC, VITA 88.0 XMC+ defines an alternative connector from the same family used in FMC/FMC+. While not intermateable with VITA 42.0 connectors, the VITA 88.0 connector is designed to be backwards compatible with VITA 42.0 electrical footprints. This allows designers to improve existing VITA 42.0 and/or VITA 61.0 designs by swapping connectors.
Next-generation XMC+ designs utilize an updated solder footprint and blade/beam style contact system. The result is superior SI supporting PCIe® 5.0 (32 GT/s) and 100 GbE operation, and improved mechanical performance and durability. All of this is achievable at stacks up to 18 mm.
New Accelerate mP® Product Family Page

These 0.635 mm pitch power/signal arrays achieve 56 Gbps PAM4 speeds and feature rotated power blades for 22 Amps/blade and simplified breakout region (BOR). They’re best in class for power and signal density, feature power blades which are rotated 90 degrees for better heat dissipation, run up to 56 Gbps PAM4 performance, 22 Amps per power blade, and more.

New Interactive Current Carrying Capacity Tool

We recently updated a small subset of series and parts on the website with a new interactive current carrying capacity tool. Where applicable, this tool allows users to select a temperature, a derate value, and configuration. This will output an interactive chart that will show the current that can be carried for the selected options.
This feature is currently deployed on these series and all part numbers within, with additional support for more coming in the future. Note that if you visit these pages before 6/11, the charts may not display yet due to caching.
