In March 2020, the web team focused heavily on some larger features that we are working on for release in the spring. You’ll be reading about these in a few upcoming posts.
Here are a few smaller updates we were able to roll out in March 2020.
New Online Features for Managing Orders

Online order reschedules for “as soon as possible” and “push-outs” are now available for a limited number of users. We planned on rolling this out to more users in April, however we will likely wait a couple of months on the extended rollout due to the COVID-19 situation.
Keep an eye out for the “Edit” button on your Orders screen in My Samtec. This feature should be available in late Q2 or early Q3 for all users.

Update to Mobile Breadcrumbs
Continuing with our mobile experience upgrades, we have updated several pages with truncated versions of our breadcrumbs across the website.
There were a handful of pages where the breadcrumbs were quite long due to the product names. These broke the mobile layout for those pages and didn’t create a great experience.
These are now updated to be shorter versions of those same names, and the pages work very well on mobile devices.
An example of this is the .100″ Square Post products
Design Update to Solutionator Homepage Tool

We rolled out the update to the Solutionator homepage block a few months ago. We’ve since been tweaking it to be as useful as possible.
This month we rolled out a few style updates to it to make it a bit easier on the eyes and easier to use. It now jumps out to users much more on the homepage, bringing more attention to this highly useful design tool.
Pay Invoices Online Through My Samtec

We released a feature in My Samtec that will allow users to pay invoices online through a third-party payment processor with a credit card. This process will work with a SSO (single sign-on) integration that allows users who are logged into My Samtec to also be logged into the payment provider software seamlessly.
The user can then access their invoices and pay them online. This prevents users from needing to call customer service to pay invoices, saving time and hassle on both sides and creating a 24/7 available service.
You’ll see this option available if you have billing options linked up to your My Samec account.
Various COVID-19 Updates

A number of updates have rolled out across the website to communicate how Samtec is handling the COVID-19 situation.
You’ll see an informative banner at the top of the website, updates to our pricing and delivery page to show updated delivery times, and various content on the blog addressing the pandemic.
This is an unprecedented situation and Samtec associates have stepped up in a huge way. We’ll continue to do our best to provide Sudden Service as we always have since 1976.
