Last month, we rolled out a few new content updates, updated some of our discrete wire data with new products, added the ability to search ASP part numbers, and developed a new section of the site for some of our video demos.
Here are the major web updates from June 2021.
New “Flexible Stacking” Products Page
Samtec has more ways to connect two or more PCBs than any other connector company. With the industry’s largest variety of board stacking interconnects, and the most design flexibility to solve almost every design challenge, Samtec makes it easy to find the right board-to-board interconnect system. Header and socket systems are available in a variety of pitch, density, stack height, contact system, orientation, and other standard or modified options.
IDC cable assemblies feature Samtec’s high-reliability Tiger Eye™ IDC contacts on 1.27 mm and 2.00 mm pitch, as well as dual beam contacts on 2.54 mm pitch. Choice of socket and plug terminations, low profile and slim body designs; ejector, shrouded and elevated headers for mating.

Additional Data Added for Ultra Micro Discrete Wire Components
One of our newer and more popular products is our line of ultra micro power connectors, which support power / signal applications with a variety of latching options. They’re also compatible with several of our flagship connector systems.
We recently updated the mating charts for these products to list the Housing, Contact, Cable and Board Assemblies, and Tooling information.

Added the Ability to Search ASP Part Numbers
Recently we added support for thousands of new ASP pages on Samtec.com. For those of you who don’t know, ASP stands for “Application Specific Product” and accounts for over 25% of Samtec’s business. These are typically very simple customizations such as plating and polarization changes, but can also be more complex such as custom body options, multi-power staging, etc.
You can now search ASP part numbers via the search bar on Samtec.com. If you have a valid ASP product, you’ll find supporting documentation from the part it was derived from, and the ability to request additional information for that product.

New System Demonstrations Video Page
Samtec has a wide array of product demo videos that show off the capabilities of our products. We’ve recently released a page that showcases some of the major ones. This page links to about 10 video pages, which show a full-screen video along with supporting documentation and links to the products shown in the videos.
