What is PCI/104-Express?
Since its adoption n 2008, the PCI/104-Express specification established a standard to use a high speed PCI Express® bus in embedded applications. PCI Express is used widely in the computing industry. It aslo offers performance, scalability, and a number of silicon solutions. It provides a new high-performance physical interface while retaining software compatibility with existing PCI infrastructure.
What are VITA 57.4 FMC+ Standard Connectors?
VITA 57.4 FMC+ is the next-generation successor to VITA 57.1 FMC. They both define a standard electromechanical interface for I/O expansion adopted by the FPGA development eco-system. VITA 57.4 expands upon VITA 57.1 by offer more I/O, multi-gigabit transceivers and higher speeds. FMC and FMC+ related products target market-specific applications in industries such as Datacom, Broadcast, Aerospace/Defense, Industrial and Instrumentation.
New Product Configurators
Back to the configurators. We’ve been working on bringing you ways to get easier access to these products on the Samtec website. First, it was building the section itself. Then, we added many new supported standards. From there, we populated many of the pages with a grid that lists all compatible part numbers and instant downloads of technical documentation.
Recently, we updated a number of pages to include a custom configurator tool that will allow you to build your products on the fly with your desired options, and know for a fact they will support the standard that you are viewing. You can even sample them and Add to Cart directly from these pages.

Click either link and scroll down about halfway. You’ll notice a new section where the grid was before this update, including this custom configurator. The yellow areas will allow you to configure your part number, then you can take action on those part numbers on the right-hand side with the provided buttons.
