I recently stumbled upon the story of Stephanie Kwolek, a DuPont chemist who discovered the technology behind Kevlar® almost 60 years ago. This lightweight fiber is five times stronger than an equal weight of steel, withstands high heat and is resistant to harsh chemicals (kind of like Superman except for that whole kryptonite thing). My poetry may not be as polished as Francis Scott Key with the lyrics of the United States National Anthem. The United States is celebrating Independance Day and it seems fitting to make a reference to rockets. The VITA 90 standard is designed to be the smallest standardized form factor that could be used in todays "rockets", or small tubular things that fly.
