The PCI-SIG^{^®} is coming to Germany for the PCI-SIG Developers Conference Europe 2018! Focusing on the most up-to-date PCI technology, DevCon 2018 is the only event in Germany that provides comprehensive training on all aspects of PCI technology.

The PCI-SIG Developers Conference is a free event for our 700+ member companies that develop and bring to market new products utilizing PCI Express^{^®} technology. Its an opportunity to learn directly from the industry’s PCIe^{^®} experts and participate in technical trainings to gain best practices to improve product roll-out and interoperability.

Samtec will be attending the PCI-SIG Developers Conference May 7 and 8. Kevin Burt of Samtec’s Optical Group will be presenting the following:

Latency in PCIe® Expansion Systems

“PCI Express protocols are designed to ensure fair arbitration of resources and is well suited for hard real-time communication between

computers.

Used with PCIe fiber optics, PCIe Gen3 x16 enabled systems can communicate over long distance and still maintain the hard real-time behavior.

We will present the mechanisms that contribute latency to a PCIe system and will demonstrate real real-time measurements using PCIe copper cables and PCIe FireFly fiber optics. In addition, we will demonstrate the benefits of using a real real-time operating system for hard real-time communication over PCIe.”
