Over the past several months, we’ve made a variety of e-commerce updates to Samtec.com. From improving the sample checkout process, to improving the online order process, to upgrading the APIs that My Samtec uses, and a few others, the e-commerce experience of Samtec.com is steadily improving.
Recently, we have added our standard book pricing and distributor availability to our Full Part Product Detail pages. This currently exists for logged-out users on all pages that feature a full part number. We’ll soon be adding this capability higher up the navigation chain to our Series-level Product Detail pages as well as for logged-in users. Stay tuned to the Samtec Blog for more on that.
How to See Book Pricing on Product Detail Pages
These full part number pages are typically accessed via the Search tool on Samtec.com by searching the exact full part number, or from outside of Samtec.com via direct links from partner websites.
Here’s an example: https://www.samtec.com/products/bbl-102-t-e
Take note the block at the top right which has a few important features.
- Book pricing along with large volume price buckets
- Current availability that is in stock
- Large volume lead time
- A link to additional stock via distribution
- Packaging notes
An important note to consider with this data is that while Samtec is a “build-to-order” company with the shortest lead-times in the industry, we do also keep frequently ordered products in stock. This means that for the vast majority of products, if it’s not in stock, odds are we can build it and get it to you very quickly. If you need it faster, we also have a variety of distribution options.
Distributor Stock
If you click the “Channel Availability” link (soon to be changed to “Distributor Stock”), this will take you to a block that will show all of the distributor stock for this specific product, where you can then click through to the purchase link for each one. This will exist whether or not you are logged into Samtec.com.
This information is provided with a customer-first mentality. Samtec is a service company, so we want provide you with the best chance to get what you need, even if you’re not getting it directly from us.
Take this new feature for a spin by searching for your favorite Samtec part numbers on Samtec.com.
Note: Logged-in users will not see this block yet, but can click the “Get Pricing” link for user-specific pricing. We’re working on it.
